 Section 5420 on-line course. Required software includes Windows 7 (downloadable) software, Internet, and e-mail address/account. Online students have two choices for completing the lab activities for Windows 7 Configuration. The following are minimum system requirements for both scenarios: 1) Windows 7 installed directly on available hardware requires (GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit processor, 512 MB of system memory (2GB recommended), 80 GB hard drive, DVD-ROM drive, network adaptor, for Windows Aero, support Direct X 9 graphics with WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel; or 2) Vista installed in a Virtual PC 2007 virtual machine on a host computer requries (same hardware specs as above, except recommend minimum 2 GB of system memory and Virtual PC 2007 installed (free download) or students may attend open lab on Friday evening or another time designated by instructor to complete requried labs. Students without a home computer have access to El Centro College's Computer Lab (A435). This course may be repeated if topic and learning outcomes vary. This course will explore mobile web development designs and solutions. Instruction will be based on realistic scenarios and students will be required to provide solutions. This course will be dividend into course instruction and lab. Course instruction will be based on a industry standards from leading mobile device manufacturers. Students will be given weekly problem based scenarios; and will be required to produce working solutions provided by current manufacturers based on research performed otuside of class. Lab will consist of developing of mobile solutions using XHTML, Adobe Flash Lite, and industry accepted software and simulators. Students should schedule an additional 3 hours/week for lab work. Concurrent CE available.
