Service-Learning courses help you grow and develop and, at the same time, meet important
community needs. Service-learning projects will require a great deal of effort, and even
sacrifice on your part, but we can almost guarantee that the experience that will make a
major contribution to your learning and personal growth. You will be joining thousands of
college and university students all over the United States who are involved in service projects
designed to enhance classroom learning, foster civic responsibility and meet community needs.
Format: GlbStd/ Note: Students will analyze personality type and
learning style in order to become better communicators and global
citizens. This class also has a required Service Learning
project.
Delivery: Service Learning/ Note: Class meets 2/10-5/12. Students
apply learning to volunteer service at the Family Gateway
Homeless Center in one of these areas: computer learning lab,
reading, homework and tutoring, multicultural community family
heritage center and strategies and games.
