 This course is part of the HDEV 0092 male student success initiative focusing on improving and increasing graduation and retention rates through support, empowerment, and a strong educational foundation. The 3-credit Urban Male Leadership course will address specifically identified needs of urban male students. Students will focus on academic enrichment, self-identity, community responsibility, and personal development.

 This course has been developed to provide clear guidance, through the structure of academic rigor, to veterans and members of the military. Content ranges from basic 'soldier to student' support in the First Year Experience (FYE) course to leadership and effective utilization of El Centro resources. The Veteran's HDEV FYE class is designed to provide an open forum for discussion about college transitional issues and concerns; in addition to promoting greater self-awareness and personal growth.
