 This is the first semester course of academic transfer Spanish. This class has an online computerized homework component. Students with some previous knowledge of the language are encouraged to take the MVC-Spanish Placement Exam in order to earn 9 hrs. in one semester after joining and passing a SPAN 2311 course. This course requires computer with high speed internet connection to the latest versions of IE, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome; microphone, and speakers. Students must be computer literate.  Service Learning combines community service and one hour of academic credit that can be transferred to a public Texas college/university. Service Learning can be used to explore your chosen career field or to explore a new area of interest all while providing service to your community. The student selects an approved agency, attends orientation, volunteers for 20 hours,attends one on-campus meeting and submits written reports.Hospitals require 40 hours. Students MUST contact Oscar Santos in S2080 or email him at osantos@dcccd.edu. Once enrolled in SPCH 2145 students must complete the MVC Online Service Learning Application. After receiving an email stating their application is approved, students may begin their volunteer hours.
