 FLEX START(1ST 8-week session) CORE TIER 2 - Humanity, Creativity and the Aesthetic Experience (CB-040). HYBRID CLASS -- MANDATORY attendance face-to-face on-campus on Monday/Wednesday and MANDATORY 3 hours a week online. eCampus work included with some written assignments completed online. TELEPRESENCE ENHANCED CLASS -- students at the NLC Central Campus and at the NLC North Campus will be attending class simultaneously via Cisco Lecture Capture. These type of classes allow students to take class with other students at the remote locations, occurring at the same time, through an interactive distance learning environment. The instructor will be live at the Central Campus and all instructional content will occur at the North Campus through the Lecture Capture Program. REQUIRED visits to approved theatre, music concert and dance concert. REQUIREMENTS: Computer accessibility. An interdisciplinary, multi-perspective assessment of cultural, political, philosophical, and aesthetic factors critical to the formulation of values and the historical development of the individual and of society. No class on 9/4.

Critically examines historical and contemporary stereotypes in movies, sitcoms, popular music, video games, textbooks, advertising and news. Looks at some of the reasons and consequences of stereotyping certain populations.
