What's Race Got to do with it?: An Inside Look at Multicultural America. A study of the effects of historical, social, cultural and media influences on our own behavior and our perception of others, with special emphasis on public discourse about issues of race, ethnicity, community building, and peace, regarding four specific groups - American Indians, Hispanic/Latino Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans. This class will be highly interactive and utilize a multi-sensory (class presentations, formal speeches, videos, music, cultural informants, games, foods, etc.) approach involving group activities. Students interested should register for either SOCI 1306.83080 or SOCI 2319.83081 and SPCH 1315.83080. This is a 6 credit hour learning community with transferable credit in Speech & Sociology.
